Who We Are

You may be wondering who we are, what we do, and why we do it. I hope that the info below helps out with that.

Who: My name is Beau Carufel, I've lived in the Pacific NW since 2011 and can't ever see myself leaving. I live in the Portland Metro area with my wife and our two dogs. When I'm not working or doing the car things, I enjoy playing baseball, flying, cooking, trying to grow veggies in our garden, and enjoying the gorgeous outdoors in the area.

What: I envision PNW Performance Autos becoming a trusted guide for people like me who want to find their ideal performance auto but aren't sure how to go through all the steps. The way I see it, you're not going to want the average car buying experience, I know I didn't.

By leveraging my knowledge and own experiences along with doing the research and legwork, my value-add is your complete satisfaction with the car, resources, and community. From deciding what car you want, finding the best places to look and shop, learning which dealers and shops have the best reputation in the community, arranging pre-purchase inspections, and providing inspiration for how to maximize your enjoyment, my goal is to make sure your experience is as smooth as possible. And sure, I'd like to get a small payment for my time, energy, and own resources.

While I was dreaming up this concept, I also thought that it would be fun to sell some merch and gear that points to our love of cars and the PNW. Some of it is gear I think all of us should have or use, some of it is interesting art or models. I have been playing with merch designs too, with the recurring theme of spirited driving on some of the amazing roads we have here.

Why: Last April I bought a B9 S4, I wanted something comfortable, fast, and a bit refined for us to have. It was always going to be my daily driver but that didn't mean it needed to be boring. The process of researching the type, actually searching for a car, finding a trustworthy dealer, trying to find a shop, and ultimately wanting to get the most out of my car led me to this idea.

If you've made it this far, thank you! PNW Performance Autos is by no means a static company, we want to be adaptable to everyone who uses our services. We don't want a boring list of gear and merch, we do want things we sell to be interesting, funny, relatable, and what you want to own or wear.
