I like to think that everything happens for a reason, despite the evidence that sometimes the Universe just does not care. Maybe it's more like the Universe isn't even aware of us. That's not a positive or a negative, it gives us a sense of freedom to chart our own paths. How does that relate to this nascent idea?
My daily driver is an S4, before that I drove a Mazda3. An E30 preceded the Mazda, and I was into Mustangs when I first started driving. Right now I'm looking for a 996.1 Coupe, preferably a 1999 with that manual throttle cable. I've had cars from three continents and the 80's, 90's, 2000's, and 2010's. There hasn't been any rhyme or reason until last April when I bought my Audi. It felt as if I reconnected with something I didn't even realize I was missing.
During the search I realized a few things and experienced some pain points. There are so many websites that show cars for sale. In the Pacific Northwest a lot of shops claim they "specialize in German automobiles" when they really mean that they'll change the oil on a VW. Connecting with other enthusiasts can seem daunting, and accurately understanding the value of your car (or the one you want to buy) feels like throwing darts.
Fast forward to a year later and I'm looking for another car, a fun weekend car. The S4 isn't going anywhere, I love it. This search feels like I'm hitting a lot of the same pain points though. That isn't to say there aren't great websites and resources available, most enthusiasts would agree that this space is saturated with them. What we are aiming to do is offer a place to come and find those resources parsed into categories that meet you where you are in your search and ownership experience.
Earning your trust is the goal, we aim to achieve that by sharing places, people, and experiences that we know and use ourselves. Whether you're looking for a shop that will do a PPI or place to get tires, we want to help. If you need to get out and enjoy a twisty road, we've got info for you there too. Is that dealership trustworthy? Does that shop work with owners to tailor maintenance schedules? All valid questions, let us help you find the right answers. We have merch if you really like us but that's not the end goal. If you find the car you want and love that car, and we helped along the way, that's what motivates us. Making sure your resources are well spent, whether by hiring us or by finding the right shop for you, is our measure of success.
Let's hit the road.
